²⁷ And in reply the Baal Torah said, VAHAVTA ES ADONOI ELOHECHA BKHOL LVAVCHA UVECHOL NAFSHECHA UVECHOL MODECHA [DEVARIM 6:4,5] and L’REACHA KAMOCHA [DEVARIM 6:5; VAYIKRA 19:18]

²⁸ And Rebbe, Melech HaMoshiach said to him, Your answer is frum. Richtik. Do this and you will live.

²⁹ But because the Baal Torah wanted to justify himself, to be yitzdak im Hashem (justified with G-d, IYOV 25:4) on the basis of his own zchus (merit) he said to him, And who is my REA (neighbor)?
